UCA golf in 11th place

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The University of Central Arkansas women’s golf team sits in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Spring Classic after shooting  rounds of 316-308 — 624.

Senior Christina Lecuyer is in third place individually with rounds of 75-71 for a two-round 146 score. UCA's Rebecca Sorenson is tied for 43rd at 79-78 — 157, while Sanna Vihervaara is tied for 52nd at 80-79 — 159.

Jessica Ross shot 82-80 — 162 and is tied for 59th place, while Nicole Forshner is tied for 76th at 82-86 — 168.

Missouri Southern is in the lead with back-to-back rounds of 300. Sam Houston State is next with 301-304 — 605.

Christy Carter of Oral Roberts is the overall leader with rounds of 74-70 — 144.  In second place is Woori Shin of Redlands Community College at 69-76 — 145.

The third and final round will begin at 8:15 today at Corpus Christi Country Club.
