UCA finishes fourth

BEAUMONT, Texas — The University of Central Arkansas women's golf team finished fourth in the Lamar University Lady Cardinal Invitational played at Beaumont Country Club.
Senior Christina Lecuyer shot 81-77 — 158 and finished in a tied for 14th place with teammate Nichole Forshner. A sophomore, Forshner shot 80-78 — 158. Rebecca Sorensen had rounds of 79-80 for a 159 total and finished tied for 19th. Jessica Ross went 83-77 — 160 and tied for 21st. UCA's final individual was Sanna Vihervaara, who shot 80-83 — 163 and tied for 32nd.
In the team race, UCA had rounds of 320-312 for a 632. Host Lamar won the tournament at 614, followed by Sam Houston State (625), Oklahoma City (628), UCA, Louisiana-Monroe (636), McNeese State (638), Texas State (647), Texas-San Antonio (651), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (654) and McLennan Community College (666).
The individual medalist was Lamar's Hiliary Zeigler with a eight-over 150.
