UCA 6th after second day

LAKE CHARLES, La. — The University of Central Arkansas women’s golf team is tied for sixth after the first two rounds of the McNeese State Cowgirl Spring Invitational.

UCA is tied with Arkansas State at 644. UCA shots rounds of 320 and 324, while ASU had rounds of 317 and 327.

Sophomore Nicole Forshner shot rounds of 75-76 — 151 and is tied for third individually. Senior Christina Lecuyer is tied for 15th with rounds of 81-78 — 159. Rebecca Sorenson shot 83-84 — 167, as did Sanna Vihervaara. They are tied for 38th place overall.

Jessica Ross is in 50th place with rounds of 85-89 — 174.

South Alabama leads the field with a 622 score, followed by Lamar (628), Texas State (636), Sam Houston State (637), McNeese (639), UCA and ASU (644), Louisiana-Monroe (644), Nicholls State (663), McClennan Community College (664) and Troy University (666).

South Alabama’s Elin Andersson is the individual leader with a 77-71 — 148 score.
