UCA tennis drops SLC opener

NATCHITOCHES, La. — The University of Central Arkansas tennis team lost their first Southland Conference match of the year by the score of 7-0 at Northwestern State on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Sugar Bears fall to 0-5 on the year, while NSU improves to 4-3.
The Lady Demons swept the Sugar Bears in doubles, but freshmen Lindsey and Jordan Short played Magali Van den Berge and Marine Neveu close, losing 8-5 at the number three slot.
In singles, sophomore Rebecca Miller fell to Bogusia Patzer 7-5, 6-1 in number two. Sophomore Heidi Miller lost 6-0, 7-6 to Neveu at number for singles.
The Sugar Bears will host Grambling State on Tuesday, March 6.
