Garside ties for first

WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Sophomore Lori Garside tied for first in the high jump to highlight the University of Central Arkansas women's track team's performance at the Central Missouri Mule Relays on Thursday afternoon.
The Gentry native set a school record with a vault of 1.68 meters and tied Emily Middleton of Pittsburg State.
Other top performers included sophomore Mallory Tate of Conway, who took 10th in the 600 yard run with a school record time of 1:33.80. Freshman Pat Hampton placed 12th in the 400 meters with a 1:03.32 time and took 21st in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 10.10.
Junior Lauren Merritt placed 11th in the mile run with a 5:38.04 and junior Whitney Welch took 12th in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:23.61.

The Sugar Bears will next compete at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships, beginning on Friday, Feb.16, in Houston, Texas.
