Bears tied for 8th after first day

MARTIN, Tenn. — The University of Central Arkansas men’s golf team is tied for eighth place after one round of the Grover Page Classic hosted by the University of Tennessee-Martin.
The second round was not completed Monday (March 5) because of darkness and will resume today, along with the third and final round.
UCA shot an opening-round 305, led by a trio of 76s. Matt Montgomery, Kyle Seibert and John Hillard all turned in scores of 76, while Michael Barre carded a 77. Drew Richards added an 80 for the Bears.
North Alabama leads the field at 288, followed by host UT-Martin (295), Tennessee State (301), Tennessee Tech and Lewis University (302), Murray State and Centenary (303) and UCA
Loyola-Chicago is tied with UCA for eighth, followed by Southern Illinois (305), Morehead State (307), Lipscomb (310), Union University (314), Cincinnati (315) Chicago State (318) and Kentucky Wesleyan (327).
John Slayton of UTM leads the individual standings after shooting a two-under 70.
